Study plus Field experience = Nate certified

Easy to read and understand. The nate exam is tricky. I highly recommend reading this several times front to back with at least 18 to 24 months of field experience before taking this exam. The Nate exam is 100 questions. Fifty percent of the questions are based on field experience and trouble shooting. This book does not contain all the answers that will be on the exam. Need field experience.

This book is awesome. I studied it for 4 days along with some flash cards. Took the nate exam and passed it the first time. I was in hvac school for 5 weeks with no experience. Now I'm starting my career with my epa and gas heat and heat pump thanks to these books.

Atta's characters are irrepressible, beginning with Makinde in "The Miracle Worker," an honest Lagotian mechanic who charges admission to view the vision his born-again Christian wife claims to have seen in a dusty windscreen in his car lot. He foolishly loses the money and is harshly humbled--to his wife's great satisfaction. The Muslim wife in the chilling "Hailstones on Zamfara"--having been married at 14, excluded from school, and now rendered near-deaf by her drunken husband's beatings--finds a short-lived sense of vindication following her husband taking another wife. Elsewhere, Atta pursues how privileged Nigerians fare abroad, such as the young graduate in "A Temporary Position," who applies his irreverence for the law to his first job, and the New Jersey nanny in "News from Home," who is torn by loyalty and her desire to practice her profession as a nurse. Atta movingly portrays these conflicted lives and gorgeously renders a wide spectrum of humanity and experience.

Nigerian-born Atta’s prizewinning novel, Everything Good Will Come (2006), was about a young woman’s coming-of-age in Lagos. Now Atta lives in the U. S., and this powerful collection is about the search for home. In the irreverent title story, a young Nigerian gets a job as a nanny for a New Jersey family; she sneers at their “African” decor, but what dazzles her is the mall (“scented toilet paper!”). When Americans ask her where she’s from, she ends up saying “Africa”; they don’t know Nigeria. As gentle as it is horrifying, “Last Trip” is about a courier from Lagos who boards a plane for London with a half-million dollars’ worth of heroin in her stomach; her commission will help care for her disabled son. Much of Africa has been slower to join the world in the modern age, but it still blooms none the less. "News from Home" is a collection of short stories from Sefi Atta, a Nigerian writer with much support from her contemporaries. Through her stories, she shows the condition of her people in an emerging society that has recently been granted the freedoms of the world and are stuck between modernization and the traditions of Nigeria. Thoughtful and insightful, "News from Home" is a strong pick for any world fiction collection.

This book describes the energy method, a powerful technique for deriving nonlinear stability estimates in thermal convection contexts. It includes a very readable introduction to the subject (Chapters 2-4), which begins at an elementary level and explains the energy method in great detail, and also covers the current topic of convection in porous media, introducing simple models and then showing how useful stability results can be derived. In addition to the basic explanation, many examples from diverse areas of fluid mechanics are described. The book also mentions new areas where the methods are being used, for example, mathematical biology and finance. Several of the results given are published here for the first time.

This volume is a completely revised version of the first edition published in 1992. In addition to an update of material from the first edition, six new chapters have been added, covering topics such as multi-component convection-diffusion, convection flows in a compressible fluid, models of penetrative convection, convection with temperature-dependent viscosity and thermal conductivity, and stability of ocean flows. The final chapter gives details of two very different but highly accurate and efficient methods for numerically solving eigenvalue problems that arise in hydrodynamic stability.

The new methods developed during the last eleven years and presented here will be of use to many readers in applied mathematics, engineering, physics, and other mathematical disciplines.

This is the best book on the subject I have ever read. From the simplest concepts and examples to the modern theories,the author lead the reader by a very methodical way. The book is easy to understand if you go from beginning to later chapters without omissions.

If you're a fan of ace attorney then there's no way you won't enjoy this. I actually bought the original Japanese one when it first came since I wasn't aware that they would make an English version. The original concept designs are really fun to look through! And the coloring is superb.
