Tamar Rosenfeld has been in love with New York Leopards linebacker Abraham Krasner since they were twelve years old. She'd always considered it destiny that they'd end up together…until Abe was drafted and she professed her feelings in a moment of blind excitement. The sting of his rejection was like nothing she'd ever felt before, and it's nothing she'll ever forget.

Older and wiser, Tamar has landed a dream job as a reporter for one of New York's premier athletic websites. Determined to stop being the safe, boring girl she's felt like for most of her life, Tamar makes a list of all the things she wants to do and see in her new city, and Getting Over Abraham is priority number one.

But destiny has finally chosen to interfere. Just as Tamar's decided to move on, Abe's realized she's the only woman for him. When he confides the truth, Tamar has to decide if she can put her crush behind her, or take a chance on the very man who's been holding her back all these years.

Review
Library Journal Starred Review:Tamar Rosenfeld has loved childhood pal Abraham Krasner ever since she was 12 years old. At 19, she confessed her love but was crushed to discover her yearning was unrequited. Fast-forward four years: Abe is now the star linebacker for the New York Leopards professional football team, and Tamar has just moved to the Big Apple to pursue a position as a reporter forSports Today. It was only a matter of time before Tamar's and Abe's lives would intersect, especially since Tamar has been hanging around the team to get a story. Abe was slow to realize his feelings, but now that Tamar is in town, he can't risk losing her again. Tamar refuses to have her heart torn out a second time, but irresistible Abe is making it difficult for her to stand her ground. When an opportunity arises for Tamar to write a piece on the faulty equipment that jeopardizes the safety of the team, she takes it, even when the fallout could cost her and Abe everything.
VerdictAbe's and Tamar's endearing resolve to stay together during a pivotal hour of darkness will make even the harshest cynic want love to prevail. Parr's (Rush Me;Running Back) writing has only gotten stronger in this delightful third foray into new adult territory. This reviewer hopes for much more to come from this author.--Kara Kohn, Plainfield P.L, IL

REVIEW:

I have been dying to read this book since I started the New York Leopards series. Simply because this is Abraham's story and we get to finally met the girl who has stolen his heart so long ago!
Abraham's a sweet and tender guy, so I his story couldn't be any other than sweet and swoony. And Allison Parr definitely wrote a story for Abraham that totally made him justice.

Tamar Rosenfeld's one of those girls who fell in love with her best friend and to make matter worse both their families are like a one big family. So there's no chance to hide when you confess to the guy you are in love with him and he rejects you.

After a couple of years apart and not knowing from one another, Tamar and Abraham find each other again in New York: Tamar's working as a reporter for one of New York's premier athletic website and Abraham's in the New York Leopards as a linebacker. So yes, they get to see each other a lot.

Tamar's determined to get over Abraham's once and for all, but being over her sexy first love when he wants her, might be kind of complicated.

I loved this story. Is a second chance at love and a tribute to those romantic stories where the guy tries to make the girl fall in love all over again (although Abraham didn't need a lot of help with that).

The two main characters are simply amazing. They are the younger couple so far in the series, so I kind of related more to them. Tamar is the perfect representation of every girl who fell in love with her best friend. She's sweet, good, smart and kind, without loosing her attitude towards some problems and determined to do what she believes is the right thing to do. You find yourself easily liking the girl and you get deep into the story thanks to her.
And Abe's simple the perfect guy every girl's dream boy. He's sweet, funny and determined to have Tamar as more than friends and amend his mistake when he was younger and didn't follow Tamar.

I might have wanted a little bit more "resistance" from Tamar, because it was "too easy" for Abe to get her back. Although, that's exactly what happens when you're madly in love and you cannot control your hormones, right? So I can forgive her. And I would have also wanted to follow more closely her bucket list.
As for the story in general, I liked that we get to be "inside" Tamar's head, the girl who steals Abe's heart, but since this is Abe's story I would have wanted to also be "inside" his head. I think that applies to all the books in the series: I also want to know what the boys are thinking! I'm kind of in love with them, that's why.

The ending's simply perfect. Something you'd expect from a love story like Tamar and Abe's. So I can tell you that when I finished the book I had a big goofy and dreamy smile in my face and I re-read the ending twice. Definitely the best ending of the series.

Without a doubt, this story was the sweetest story in the New York Leopards series and one you don't want to miss. Tamar and Abraham are perfect for each other and you can easily see it as soon as you get to know both characters. I like to see the New York Leopards gang grow and include into the girls "team" such a sweet girl like Tamar is.
I highly, highly recommend this book to those romantics out there who want a sweet story to read. Abe would melt and steal your heart and you'd want to have Tamar as a friend! You definitely have to read it. And I will anxiously wait for more books in this series, 'cause there are more players in the team and I can't wait to read about their stories!

Loved, loved this book!
By Mandy @ I Read Indie
Regret filled his face and he moved his arms as though to pull me into a hug. "Tammy-"
But that was all I needed, to be comforted by Abraham Krasner for being idiot enough to fall in love with him at first sight, and stay that way for close to a decade. He was too perfect, and I clearly was not, and I was in no shape to handle that.
So instead of collapsing against him, I stumbled back, unable to take his soulful, tragic eyes, I ran.
**

A few years back Tamar confessed her love to her best friend right before he took off to New York to play pro football. Unfortunately he didn't feel the same. Fast forward to the present and Tamar finds herself running in the same circles as Abe thanks to her new job. Abe is still with the Leopards and Tamar is a reporter that covers his team. Abe wants another chance with her but Tamar thinks it is too risky and will only be left brokenhearted. Again. Will Abe be able to prove himself to Tamar? Will her job jeopardize this new relationship with Abe?

I had no idea this was book 3 of a series. At least I don't recall knowing. It may have been mentioned and I just forgot. Point being? After seeing who the first two books were about and seeing those characters in this story, it is safe to say that it is ok to read them out of order. And now I definitely want to go back and read these other 2 books. Because this author is one heck of an author.

"I am afraid that loving you is like riding a bike. That if I let myself remember how to do it, I'll fall so hard and fast that I'll never be able to recover."
He kissed me hard and swift, like a branding. "I don't want you to be able to recover."
**

I was a little taken aback with Abe. I went into this story thinking he was going to be a womanizing, arrogant jerk. Finding out he wasn't was like being doused with cold water. He was actually a really great guy and a decent one. Tamar really is going to have a hard time rejecting him.

I can see where Tamar is coming from though. It was enough to have your heart broken at 19, you sure don't want it done again when starting over all alone in a new city with a new job. But seeing Abe slowly chip away her defenses had me smiling. I rooted hard for this guy. They needed to find their way back to each other.

**
We would never give each other up. But that didn't necessarily mean that we would get to keep each other, either.

Great storyline, amazing characters...this book was absolutely fabulous. I didn't want to put it down once I started. And it was so easy to fall back into once I started it again. I quickly read through this book and was a little sad once it was over. I am soon going to pick up those other two books just so I can hang on to this world the author created a little bit longer. 5 Adoring stars!

I have truly enjoyed all of the "Leopard" books, but...
By L. Wilson
Allison Parr writes an engaging, interesting story that pulls you in and has you rooting for her characters. However, as in the previous two books, she needs to find a new proofreader. One or two typos, wrong tense usage, wrong word usage might be overlooked, but all three of these books are overflowing with these sorts of errors. It distracts from the flow of the story, when you have to re-read a sentence or paragraph to make sure you didn't miss something due to dropped words or improper words. I hate to see these things, because her stories are very good and deserve your complete attention - and enjoyment.
